Giddy-up

We’re getting the condo. After an extremely speedy negotiation on price yesterday, we were told to ready ourselves for the mortgage application by gathering all paper-based evidence that we are productive members of society who do things like pay taxes and save money and shank hobos. Kidding about the last one. I was just making sure you’re paying attention.

All kidding aside ... never mind. That’s ridiculous. I never leave the kidding aside.

Today we meet the lender, who we are told is a ridiculously good-looking woman who will punch you in the face if you don’t know what you’re talking about or don’t have your poop together. The words used were, “She will ride you, and not in the good way.” I’m not sure what the good way would be for me so let’s just make sure she doesn’t catch on that we haven’t done this before.

Sita schooled us on some of the options the lender will offer us, and told us what we should choose to get the best deal, so I feel pretty confident that the lender will leave her saddle and crop under her desk.

The idea we’re getting is that the sellers want to close quickly, and that the only thing holding up the show would be financing. I called Julie last night to let her know, since she may need to find another renter sooner rather than later.

The only thing I’m not looking forward to is moving. How much does moving suck? A really whole lot. Moving super sucks.

Yay! So exciting! This sounds very similar to what happened when we bought our place. We made the offer and negotiated the price and came to an agreement in under 24 hours. And part of our offer was a 30-day close because we knew the seller wanted to get rid of the place. We were already pre-approved for a mortgage much higher than what we needed, so we just filled out the paperwork and everything came through perfectly. I'm sure it'll happen that way for you guys too. Have fun!

Oh boy does moving ever suck. But moving into your own home is totally worth the suckage!

I am of the opinion that moving both sucks and blows. At the same time. Good luck with it and if you happen to find anything that makes your life easier, let us know. I'll be moving myself (hopefully) by the end of September and can't even think about all of the crap I've accumulated over the last five years in my current place.

Strangely, I hate moving myself, but like helping other people move. The condo looks nice!
