The Hair! The Hair!
Friday morning, we got up early and headed out of town for the wedding hairdo trial, followed by the tasting.
Here is the result of the hair trial. Behold, the back of my head:
Damsel Underdressed made a good point that the down portion of the hair program is likely to get seriously messed up over the course of the evening, what with the hugging and whatnot.
In other news...
The tasting was cool, although we didn’t get to taste any appetizers and those are the best part. I’d been looking forward to the crazy fruity brie all day.
What we did taste was the salad (we’re going with the spinach salad with candied walnuts and blue cheese crumbles), the main course (we picked either the filet mignon or the tenderloin carved tableside plus the crabcake and whatever veggie is seasonal and fresh.)
After choosing a flaming baked Alaska as our interim entertainment dessert (who doesn't need one of those?) then we kind of stalled out on the actual wedding cake-cake. I think we were full at that point. We tasted a few, but nothing really grabbed us. We need to nail that one down. I’m thinking probably chocolate chip pound cake with chocolate ganache filling and a buttercream icing, with a light blue fondant, some white scrolly work and those silver ball thingies.
As for the fitting – god. That’s still bugging me. Storytime will resume manana.

The hair? Is gorgeous? But somehow I always pictured you as a brunette?

I like how it's all "squiggly".. Like the others, I thought you had dark hair and I also thought it was much shorter. Funny how people come up with this stuff, huh?
Oh my god, that was my first thought when I saw that picture, too. Always thought you were a brunette. LOVE the curls, though...gorgeous!

Ha! I thought I was going to be the first person on here to say that I never pictured you as a blonde! I guess all of the Katies I've ever known have had dark hair. :)
Anyway, that looks gorgeous! But like I said, just beware of the drunk uncles that will want to hug you to death.
Did they use an iron or rollers to curl your hair?
I'm never right about how I think people are going to look, so I know what you ladies mean!
Damsel, she used a curling iron. I think I may have her leave the Cindy Brady curls in rather than brushing them through with her fingers, knowing that they're going to "fall" a little bit.

I thought on your old site you had a photo that had brown hair showing.
Confessing I thought you were brunette too (probably b/c of the picture on your old site as well). Hair is GORGEOUS and I agree your hair will "fall" so probably good to have it curlier to start with.
It was actually up in a bun on the old site, and the lighting was bad. So that picture was a little misleading. ;-) It made it look like I had short dark hair, which could be where that idea came from.

The curls look great. That is why I was wondering what they used. If they use a good spray, then it shouldn't matter if she rakes the curls with her fingers. They should last. Ask her if she has ever curled with a flat iron. Clients are always surprised when I do that.
