In the True Spirit of the Holiday (It's all About the Candy)
When it comes to candy, I’m not really into it. Except chocolate, of course. Let’s not be ridiculous. But when it comes to candy that doesn’t involve chocolate, like manufactured-out-of-sugar candy, I’m not all that much of a fan. You know like, Lifesavers, lollipops, Skittles, Mike and Ike … I could live without that stuff.
However, I’m kind of intrigued by Easter candy. Like marshmallow peeps. Mushy sugar covered in crunchy sugar? Okay! I probably won’t eat any peeps this Easter unless I’m explicitly confronted by one, because I try not to purposely seek out opportunities to get fat (except if you count last night’s attack of the pizza) but I can certainly imagine chewing on one of these delightful little chickens.
These chickens just scream, "Bite me!"
And carrying on with the chicken theme, Cadbury cream eggs are a repulsive idea. They involve chocolate though, so that caught my attention. Now I need to ask, what freakish food scientist has the batty little noggin to cook up such an idea? However, I love these conceptually disgusting things.
And what about the old school, classic jelly bean. You’d typically find these things nestled in Easter grass at the bottom of your basket.

I hate them, and they should be outlawed.
However, I can make an exception for Jelly Belly, because the wonderous variety of creative flavors doesn't need explaining.
Although... Jalapeno? Really?
I suppose I’ve just wandered out of the realm of Easter candy, so I'll stop now. Happy Easter, if it’s what you celebrate. Tell your family ‘hi’ for me.

Have you ever had the Harry Potter Jelly Bellys (Bellies?), aka Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans? Just like in the books/movies, they actually taste like vomit, earthworm, booger, etc. They're disgusting (obviously) and yet fascinatingly curious.
Funny, I was thinking of those Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans as I was typing this post, but I didn't know they existed in real life, outside of the movie. That sounds unfortunate. Yet fascinatingly curious indeed.
I love the little "recipes" they give you in the Jelly Belly box. I bet if you mixed jalapeno with mango you'd get mango salsa...maybe pineapple too.
you know, I've never been one to enjoy peeps or jelly beans. So I suppose Easter just isn't my holiday. =[ But the candy is awfully pretty...
Actually, I just ate a Cadbury creme egg moments ago. Mmmm.... Forget the rest of the Easter candy. It's all about the Cadbury creme eggs.
I love the Juicy Pear, Dr. Pepper, Vanilla Creme and the Cream Soda Jelly Bellies. I pick them out- but don't tell! However, in my book the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs win hands down over any other Easter candy! I will snag a Peep if it's a little hard (about a day in the open works well)
As the candy commander in my office, I must say that Starburst jelly beans are pretty tasty, too, if you like that kind of thing.
Ack, i miss easter candy.
