So THAT's the Problem

The end of the book is giving me a little bit of trouble. Now that our heroine’s life is more or less in the shitter, she needs to pull back and learn a few things. I don’t like it how all of a sudden, I have her all up in her head thinking about things and then coming to conclusions. I need to bring her out into the world and give her some action so she doesn’t transform into some armchair philosopher.

Wow, it felt good to finally just figure out what was wrong just there. This blog is saving my life. For the last two days, I’ve been very frustrated with my progress. I knew I was a little bit stuck, but I didn’t know how to grease the wheels again. I just felt hesitant to keep writing this particular section of dialogue. And now I know why from writing it out here.

Phew. What a relief.

Phew! thank LORD that this won't be another turn-the-switch-on-and-I-am-now-wise kinda ... um..ending? Wait a min, you are writing the end already? WHOA! You are one powerpuff girl huh? (okay, don't ask me where that came from! I don't even watch PPGs *anymore*). Okay back to what I was saying, yes, the beauty of your writing, be it your blog or your book, is that you keep it real. The way it happens to you and me and you know... other human beings.

PS: How's Steve feeling now? (I wrote and deleted and wrote and then deleted again but seriously LOVE you guys! *stupid grin*)

Thanks - yes, still trying to keep the book real and messy, like life. :-) And as for being at the 'end' ... not the end-end, since I will still need to go back through and beef a few things up. I've since realized there's some character development to do on a couple people, so I'll be working from the middle while I finish things up over the next three or four weeks.

Steve is doing okay, although we went out and destroyed ourselves this weekend, so I think we both could use another weekend to recover from the weekend.
